AgroParisTech awarded the Développement Durable & Responsabilité Sociétale certification
June 16 2025On its first application, AgroParisTech has been awarded the Développement Durable & Responsabilité Sociétale (DD&RS) label for a period of four years following the decision of the CIRSES labeling committee on June 13, 2025. CIRSES is a collective for the integration of social responsibility and sustainable development in higher education.
What is the DD&RS label?
Created in 2015, this label is the result of collective work by a dozen universities and grandes écoles, the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), France Universités (FU), the Ministry for Ecological Transition, the Ministry for Higher Education and Research, and the Réseau des Étudiants pour une Société Écologique et Solidaire (RESES). It enables institutions to integrate a continuous improvement system, develop skills within a collective of committed institutions, and promote sustainable development and social responsibility initiatives in French higher education and research institutions.
Collective mobilization in support of a comprehensive strategy
The DD&RS label’s evolving and systemic framework is based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined at the international level. It reflects the institution’s commitment in five areas:
- Strategy and governance
- Teaching and training
- Research and innovation
- Environment
- Social policy
At AgroParisTech, these themes are addressed through projects and initiatives carried out by the student community and staff, supported by our faculty members and led by senior management through its CSR department. These initiatives reflect a shared commitment to making environmental and societal issues a priority, drawing on scientific expertise, teaching methods, and collective engagement.
A lever for structuring and steering our commitment
AgroParisTech’s main challenges are to embody an exemplary approach, translate our commitments into measurable actions, actively respond to the challenges of societal and environmental transitions, and achieve the objectives set out in our Objectives and Performance Contract (COP). It is also about encouraging the entire community to take ownership of these issues by integrating the principles of sustainable development and social responsibility into all aspects of the institution’s life.
Obtaining the DD&RS label acknowledges the work already accomplished, but above all, it serves as a structural lever to strengthen and guide our CSR strategy. It enables us to better identify areas for improvement, highlight our achievements and nurture a culture of continuous improvement. This shared framework helps us to innovate in response to societal expectations and environmental emergencies, while consolidating AgroParisTech’s identity as a committed and responsible player in higher education.
