Setting up a network centralizing initiatives from agricultural schools
The creation of a network bringing together people involved in the discussions regarding the relationships between agriculture and issues of energy and climate change is one of the topics of high interest for the program GE+.
The opportunity came up in 2008 to develop a network consisting of the farms belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and located in Paris region. This initiative was encouraged by the regional agriculture authorities. The founding principle or topic of this network is agriculture and sustainable development.
Thus, the farms of three agricultural schools (La Bretonnière, Brie-Comte-Robert, Saint-Germain-en-Laye), the « Bergerie Nationale » of Rambouillet and Grignon Farm have formed a network in order to share experiences, coordinate initiatives, and mutualize means in the field of education for sustainable development. This network is led both by Grignon and Rambouillet farms.
The network is currently carrying out different collaboration projects :
a project of education for sustainable development, implying namely the conception and broadcasting in the network farms of communication tools such as standardized posters which present all the initiatives for sustainable development that are carried out in the farms.
a project of broadcasting of sustainable development management tools throughout the network farms (for instance, Grignon’s dashboard or PerfAgro).
These new interactions are a good opportunity for Grignon Farm and the program GE+ to think about new possible cooperations with the farms of the Ministry of Agriculture in Paris region and beyond.
We can indeed imagine the implementation of tools allowing more dynamism and exchanges within the farm network (website, blog or wiki). Moreover it could be interesting to organize meetings to share information between the different teams involved in the different schools.
